Support
How can we help?
ProteinWise scans packaged protein foods and separates calorie efficiency from protein quality. It does not tell you whether a food is healthy overall.

Accounts
An account is optional. You can sign in with Apple, Google, or email, and that account stays on this iPhone. ProteinWise has no account server. Scans, history, and goals are saved on this iPhone even if you skip the account.
If you tap Continue with Google, Google receives the Google profile for that sign-in. Sign out ends the session on this iPhone. It does not delete the account.
Delete account
On the Account screen, Delete account removes the on-device account (name, email, password verifier, Apple/Google user id) plus history, search recents, goals, correction notes, and the activity-tied cache. For a Google sign-in, ProteinWise calls Google’s disconnect. The app does not contain an Apple private key. For Apple, deletion asks protein-proof.vercel.app to revoke the token, then removes the Apple user id and refresh token from this iPhone. If the server does not confirm, the local account is still deleted and the app does not claim Apple revoked the token.
Scanning and barcodes
The camera reads barcodes and, if you choose after a product is not found, photographs Nutrition Facts and ingredients. Those photos stay on this iPhone and are removed when capture ends. A barcode may be sent to Open Food Facts (world.openfoodfacts.org) to look up the product. It is not sent with an account id. USDA branded-food snapshots are bundled in the app.
If a lookup does not finish
- Check that your device has an internet connection. Open Food Facts is used only for the barcode lookup.
- If the barcode is unknown, you can photograph the label or enter the numbers yourself.
- Close and reopen the app, then try again.
